ABOUT DAYS FOR GIRLS
Imagine a young girl of puberty age who misses school every month for several days because she has no access to feminine hygiene products. Many girls living in poverty must resort to using rags, mattress stuffing, banana leaves, feathers and even cow dung to manage their menstruation. Now, imagine that girl has received a colorful bag containing the necessary supplies that allow her dignity and turn her periods into pathways. The international nonprofit organization Days for Girls enables girls to stay in school (or work) on those special days by providing a safe, beautiful, washable and long-lasting alternative to common disposable feminine products as well as vital health education.
